Meet Cosi

The past few days a bunch of puppies have started to attend doggy daycare! Puppies are always great to have around and we love watching them grow up! When we first opened, one of our first dogs was a Rottie puppy named Keilee. Over the past few months she has grown and grown and always looks bigger each time she comes to play. Today our newest puppy is Cosi, who is a 14 week old french bulldog. This was her first full day of daycare and she did great. We even had her swimming in the pool for a few minutes!

It was picture day!

Today we were on a mission to get a picture of Princess Leia who is one of the regulars at doggy daycare. One would think this is an easy process, but that is not correct. Princess loves to run, play and jump and never stands still for the camera. It took us over an hour to get this picture, but we are proud of it! Princess loves to come to daycare and all the dogs love to play with her!

It was HOT outside, but COOL inside!

Wow, what a hot sticky day today. I am so glad that we are in a 100% air conditioned building. All the dogs would run outside, then run right back inside where it is nice and cool! I know some doggy daycares don't have air conditioning and I can't see how they can be comfortable! All the dogs had fun playing today and we had a bunch of new faces and all the dogs welcomed them to the pack!

Pardon our dust in the lobby, Urbanimal is moving a few things around and we will have the viewing window installed in a few days!

Keith's Last job

I have not told many people about where I worked before we opened Pampered Pooch Playground, but I produced the Moon and Staci radio show on KS95. Now that the Daycare has become so successful, I have left the show, but remain friends with everyone there. Staci came out this weekend because she wanted to see the place. We took her back to show her the playrooms and she fell in love with all the dogs! Watch out, one day we might add her to the payroll! Which dog will she pick???

Today we went to breakfast at my favorite place (The Original Pancake House in Edina) with one of our good friends, Keri. After breakfast we stopped out at the daycare because she wanted to meet all the dogs. She is wanting to get a dog and had a hard time deciding which breed was best for her. So we introduced her to a bunch of our hotel guests (Murphy, Bear, Maya, Oscar, Jack, Dylan, Brody, Stella, and a few others) and she wanted to take all of them home! We will keep you updated on what type of dog she picks!

Sorry I don't have a new picture to upload today, I was busy doing some painting in one of the large daycare play areas today!

The Doggy Door

Today I installed a doggy door to go from our play areas to the outside area. This is a great feature for when we have the Air Conditioning on, we don't have to keep opening the door all the time. Who would have guessed that it would be an all day project to install a simple door? Seriously, it took about 4 hours to install because I kept getting sidetracked! The first dog to use the door was Leaf (in the picture), who is one of our daycare dogs! He loves the door because it means he can run outside and jump in the pool anytime he wants! We're back!

Trisha and I got back from our trip to Chicago yesterday and came back to a busy day at the Doggy Daycare! All of our staff did a wonderful job filling in while we were gone! Today we had a great mix of dogs and everyone had a great time! Coco (in the picture) loves to run and play with just about every dog! Coco has tuns of energy and pulls his owners in the door!

Did that really happen

Monday, Trisha and I were out of town visiting my family in Chicago. We went to my friends doggy daycare to look around. We were standing talking and this big German Shepard walked up to Trisha and just started to Pee on her leg. It was pretty funny to watch, but I felt bad for her. It is just one of the job "hazards".

I just felt the need to share that. Have a great day!

A Sunny Pool Day

Friday was a pretty busy day at the daycare. We had lots of hotel guests and we decided to break out the pool. Many of the dogs loved it including Murphy and Bear who are golden retrievers and would just lay in the pool! Have a great weekend!

New Play Toys

Today this big delivery truck showed up with some new play equipment. The minute we brought it into the play room all the dogs ran to it and started playing on it. These are large ramps and stairs and they have become such a hit! We plan to order more of this equipment soon! Bella and Bindi approve!

It's a great day!

This morning has been a great morning at Pampered Pooch Playground. All the dogs are having so much fun playing. The best part of the morning so far was when Eloise came in wearing a Chicago White Sox bandana! It was just the coolest thing since I am a White Sox fan!

July at the Pampered Pooch Playground

We have been having so many new and fun dogs come play with us!! It's so exciting to meet each dog and learn their individual personalities! Some of the dogs especially enjoy when we break out the balls...it is sometimes hard to take them away :) Another thing the pooches enjoy is the pool we put in our outdoor area. Some of them love to paw at the fish that are printed on the bottom of it because the actually think something is down there! It's also nice for them to take a dip and cool off outside during the warm months. We love giving the pooches new things to do!

Here is J.D in the pool during the 4th of July. It was hard to get him out because he was having so much fun!

Lucy, the new puppy

We want to welcome Lucy, our newest puppy to Pampered Pooch Playground. Lucy is about 5 months old and loves all of the dogs (Duke, Bindi, Roxy, Coco and many others). Lucy has been to the Daycare 3 times and is doing great!

Duke and his hat!

Duke, who comes to daycare on a regular basis was the last dog that we thought that would wear a 4th of July hat, but to our surprise, duke loves his hat! Today he wore it for about 3 hours! Many of the other dogs love to wear the hat as well, but most figure out how to take it off, but not Duke! Many of the girl dogs think he looks HOT in his hat!

Kickball Anyone?

We are trying to put together a kickball team for the Minneapolis Kickball Laeague. This is a co-ed team and will be a great time. Last summer Trisha and I were on a team and it reminded me of when I was in grade school! If you want to be part of our team, jsut drop me an email by clicking here or letting us know next time you stop in. Dates and times of the games are still TBA but it starts in late August. Many of our staff members are looking forward to playing and you are able to bring your dogs to be part of the cheering section. If we are lucky, maybe we can get some of the dogs to do the wave!

Another Fun Day

Today was another fun day at Pampered Pooch Playground. All the dogs ran around and played all morning, then we had our "group nap time" at 11:30. Bindi and JD decided to snuggle up next to each other (pictured on the left).

After the nap, we filled up the pool and had a pool party. Leaf, JD and Finnegan all loved to splash around.

We had a brand new Cavalier King Charles puppy named Lucy attend her first day of Daycare today and she did great! We look forward to seeing her more!
