Bryan, voted best kisser!

Bryan, the bulldog LOVES to give kisses. The minute he walks in the door, he starts kissing anyone that pets him. Then the fun continues when he is in the play areas, and again when he goes home. The best part was when I was walking through the play area, he started to kiss my leg. Yes, Bryan has been voted best kisser by ME!!
Today was a pretty big day with the technology at the daycare. We had installers running new internet lines into the building, which means the webcams will stream faster because we have changed internet service providers! This should be up and running in about a week. Also, for those of you that have iPhones, I got a beta app on my phone so you can stream the webcams as a program! It works great and it will be sent to Apple in the next few days for approval. You can currently stream the webcams on the iPhone, but when the app is released, you will be able to make reservations, get directions, and email us. Pretty geeky, but pretty cool! I just used it on a walk with Roxy around Lake harriott and it worked great! How many local businesses have an iPhone app? Don't worry blackberry users, we will make one for you as well.
So there is the daily update. Have a great night.

2 cute/sweet dogs need a foster home

Their names are Kaia and Ari. They are 9 month old female cattle dogs (one red heeler one blue heeler, possibly a mix). They are looking for a foster home. They are great with other dogs and would appreciate having a buddy to play with that has their same energy level. They are also good with cats, birds and livestock (they are currently being boarded at a hobby farm). Email Heather if you have questions.

Highlights from the small dog room.

I spent some time in the back play room with the smaller dogs this morning. Here are a few highlights.
1- Meet Hugo, He is a maltese, and one of the newer smaller dogs that comes to daycare.
2- Moby, the French bulldog just got back from a vacation to Mt. Rushmore. Rumor has it he is best friends with the Buffalo that he saw.
3- Butters, the 4 pound yorkie is very excited to show off his new tuxedo that his parents bought him.
4- Ranger, the cocapoo showed off how he does the army crawl.
5- Dupree, Havanese has a cool new trick. When he gets excited, both of his front paws go up and down in excitement.
One of our newest staff members, Melissa was with the smaller dogs this morning and she did a great job! Make sure you welcome her into the PPP family.
Here is one funny story from yesterday. our dog Roxy was running around between the spa, our office and the training rooms. Trisha and I could not find Roxy (I really don't know how you can lose a 85 pound dog, where there is no good place to hide). So we were looking and looking, and finally we called back to the play areas. Roxy pushed open the door to the large play room, and waited in the holding area until one of our staff let her in with the other dogs. She just wanted to go play, it was pretty funny!
Have a good night.

JD

JD has been coming to daycare for the past few months and he gets so excited once he sees all the small dogs. Speaking of small dogs, there were so many little puppies at daycare today! They all seemed to stick together and play with each other.
This afternoon I finished painting our new training room. I have about 20 minutes worth of work before we can use it. We will use it for Doga, Training and doggy birthday parties. It is a great new space and we are so happy to have it!
Those of you who are our friends on Facebook and Twitter already know about the sale we have going on:
- 20% off all toys
- $5 off all clothing and hats
- $5 cloth PPP bags
We are trying to make space for all of the new summer goodies we want to put in.
Have a great night.

Gus

First let me start by saying that I am so sorry that I have not blogged the past few days. We have had a packed hotel the past few nights, so I have been busy being with the dogs. Ok, now on to the fun stuff. Meet Gus, who is still a puppy and he LOVES to run and play. Gus loves all the little dogs, but also likes to play with some of the bigger guys as well.
We had a great group of dogs that stayed over the past few days. There were lots of new faces, and lots of faces we already knew.
I hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Keilee, not a puppy anymore!

It is still hard to think that we have only been open for a year. One of our first puppies to walk through the door was Keilee a Rottweiler. I was just thinking how small she was when she first came in, and now she is almost full grown and plays great with all of the dogs.
This morning I went to a breakfast with other pet related businesses and the featured speaker was a doggy chiropractor. Let me know if you would like more information and I will gladly give you her website.
On a side note, one of my new hobbies is writing reviews of businesses on Yelp.com. I love this site because you get honest feedback of businesses, and their service. we actually used these reviews last fall when we planned a vacation to Napa and San Francisco and the reviews seem to be right on! Go ahead, check it out (man, I sound like a sales person). If you want to read our reviews, click here. As always, if there is ever anything we can do to improve, just me know!
Have a great night!

Lucy, the art project

Lucy the yellow lab was turned into an art project last night! The owners young child decided it would be better to paint Lucy rather than the walls in the kitchen :) Lucy really seemed to like the extra attention she was getting from everyone today! All the dogs did great today! For the dogs that love to lounge around outside we put out our beach umbrellas so they can get some shade and for our dogs that love to play inside, we had the air conditioning on so that everyone could stay cool.
If you waited until the last minute to make a hotel reservation for this weekend, hurry up and do it, we are almost full.
Have a good night.

What a great day!

The thing that is great about the daycare is that we have an amazing staff that we trust and Trisha and I are able to get away every now and then! This afternoon we took our dog Roxy on a long walk around Lake Harriot. Roxy loves to walk and lay down in the water and this was the perfect day for that (can you see Roxy in the picture???)! After stopping for about 4 dips in the water we finally made it home and decided it was time to give her a bath. It just so happened that I had some samples of the TopLine Canine shampoo that we sell in my car. TopLine Canine is a great shampoo which we use in our spa, and it is a local company and the owner brings his dog to us. So we gave Roxy a quick bath in our backyard while the neighbor dog, Stormy looked on. This made me think of all the great dog events that are going to take place this summer. Pet Haven is looking for people to join their team for the 5K-9 that takes place on May 31st at the Depot downtown in Minneapolis. There are a bunch of other great events, and more details can be found on sidewalkdog.com.
Have a great afternoon!

Sam

Meet Sam.... He is one of the regular faces around the doggy daycare and loves to play with fellow goldens Bailey and Georgie. The one thing Sam loves to do is lay around in odd positions like on his back with his legs in the air.
Thanks again to everyone that came out to our anniversary party! If you missed the fun, all the pictures are in the photo gallery.
Have a great night.

An early Blog

I know it is early, and most of our blogs happen after 5pm, so I thought I would surprise everyone with something before 7:30am today. I just checked my email, and had an email from Jessie, who does the Stray Dog Arts paintings. She just mentioned our dog, Roxy on her blog! Click Here for the link incase you wanted to check it out. Jessie does amazing work, and you can look at Roxy's picture in our lobby. I am just a proud doggy daddy that loves to brag about his little girl ;)
Have a good day!

Big Dog..... Big Tub

I am so glad that we ordered the largest grooming tub possible! Yesterday, Chica's parents wanted her to have a bath and if we would have had a small tub there would be no way that she would fit! Chica is a French Mastiff and is a super sweet dog, but she is HUGE and weighs about 140 pounds!! Chica's son Osito also comes to daycare and weighs about 100 pounds and is still a puppy! Both dogs play great, and the only thing we were worried about is getting them into the tub for the bath. We managed to do it and the loved getting bathed!
We just added lots of new pictures, make sure you check them out!
Have a great weekend!

Lucy, Lucy and Willie

All of the small dogs love to stand, sit, and lay on the table that is in the middle of the room! Today, the 2 Lucy's and Willie (dauxhound) had so much fun playing on it.
The outside area will be completed today! Can you feel the excitement?? I just installed a webcam outside so you can really see how BIG this area is going to be. I can't wait until the dogs see it! If you want to preview it, click here to watch the webcam.
Have a good afternoon!

Chole

This morning, Chole (wheaton terrier) came in for daycare and I started to talk to her mom after we took her back to play. About 3 minutes into the conversation, Wellington (wheaton/schnauzer) came running through the front door. Chole's mom reconized Wellington from the front page of our website. I think wellington felt like a super star!
Today we had over 40 tons of gravel delivered for the new outside area. I never knew what 40 tons looked like, but it is 2 truck fulls! The work was scheduled to be completed today, but as always, there was a glitch. The fence that the contractor ordered was not cut correctly, so they need to complete it tomorrow. Oh well, this is worth waiting for.
We just added a new dog to our featured dog section on the website. "Who is it", you ask? It's Copper, a Sheba Inu!
Have a good night.

Cinco De Moby

Happy Cinco De Mayo! I had a gut feeling that one of the dogs today would come in wearing a sombrero to celebrate the holiday, but I was wrong! The one dog that I thought would do it is Moby, who is a French Bulldog! Moby has some of the coolest doggy clothing, and this would really fit his personality! Oh well, there is always next year!
Today was an intersiting day. Day 2 of the outdoor area expansion was going on, they got all of the fence poles installed, and the fence will be put in tomorrow. It is great to finally see some progress and I can finally see just how HUGE the new outside area is going to be! If all goes well it should be almost completed tomorrow!
Have a good night!

Homer

Homer who is a black lab mix had so much fun playing on the "castle". All the dogs love to stand on the top and look down on everyone.
Today we had lots of construction work going on. The work began on the new outside area and the fencing portion of it should be completed tomorrow (hopefully the weather stays nice). We can't wait for the newly expanded outside area and we know all of the dogs are going to love it.
We have a Pampered Pooch Playground kickball team and last night was the first game of the season! The team is made up of some of our staff and people we do business with. We did pretty good, we only lost by 1 run. If you ever want to come out and watch the fun, let me know.
Have a good night.

Did you meet Reese?

It was great to see so many of our Dogs at the Walk for the Animals today! Reese, the beagle who has been spending the night with us for the past week was at our booth as our "spokes dog". She has a great time walking up and introducing her self to all the dogs, then she would go back and lay in the sun!
Now our next big event is our 1 year anniversary party. Did you RSVP yet?
Have a good weekend!
