Simon's end of day picture

Last night one of our staff members was sick, so I ended up staying until we closed for the day. Simon's dad called and said he would be picking up Simon right before we were ready to leave, so we put all of the hotel dogs to bed and brought Simon up to the lobby where we he showed off for the camera. He loves to jump on the chair and sit. Simon comes a few days each week and plays great! So Simon and our dog Roxy had a few minutes to play before they both went home for the night, SUPER TIRED!

If you are around the daycare on Sunday, things might be a bit different because we are going to have some construction work going on in the play areas. We will have the dogs in some of our other play rooms while this work is going on, so if you are watching the webcams things might look a little strange. Sundays are the best days to get projects done, but the hard part is telling construction people they need to work on a Sunday.

Everyone loves the snow!

Meet Fergie and Quinn. Both are cold weather dogs and they loved laying and playing outside. Quinn is still a puppy, but getting HUGE!!

All of the dogs loved to play in the snow that fell this afternoon! They all had so much fun running and playing in it!

As a courtesy when there is bad weather like this, we do waive the late pickup charge and allow pick ups until 8:30pm, just let us know you are running late.

Hope everyone enjoys the snow tonight, I know Roxy loves it because she has been laying outside for the past 30 minutes.

Kyp

Kyp is our latest foster dog from Pet Haven. Kyp is a littler older than most of our foster dogs, but he does very well with the rest of the dogs! For more information on Kyp, just ask us or contact Pet Haven.

This morning I think that I made the best pot of Caribou Coffee I have ever made! Everyone that tried it this morning agreed! If you are new to the daycare, we always have fresh Caribou Coffee available for everyone that comes in. The coffee is free and we just ask for a donation to Pet Haven. All the money collected will be presented to Pet Haven at the end of the year. Enjoy!

Syd loves the warm weather!

Syd is a Miniature Australian Shepard who loves to come to doggy daycare! Syd spends the day running and playing with the smaller dogs and then at night attends one of Heather's training classes! Syd's dad also works at a great lighting store.

Bindi's Spa Day

Today we had a great group of dogs at daycare! As many of you know we can do baths and nail trims while the dog is at daycare and today Bindi was booked for her day at the spa. Bindi loved to be papered!

This afternoon I spent a few hours geeking out with the webcams. I know some people have had problems streaming the cameras at large offices because the IT Departments like to block the technology. Well good news, if you were one of those offices, you should now be able to stream the slow speed webcams without a problem. Please let me know if this works better!

Oh, one last thing, all the dogs that came to daycare today, everyone went home with a special treat :)

One of the funniest videos ever!

One of my good friends who runs a doggy daycare in Chicago (much like ours), just sent me one of the funniest dog videos from The Soup! A word of warning before you watch the video below, there are some bad words in it, so please cover your dogs ears or yours if you are easily offended!

An old friend returns

You might be looking at the picture of Zoe and thinking that we have never mentioned Zoe on the blog before. That is correct, Zoe is one of the newest dogs to attend Doggy Daycare. Zoe's brother Drake is very well known around the building. He was one of our foster dogs and then Zoe's family adopted him. Both Zoe and Drake came for daycare today and this was the first time we have seen Drake since he was adopted! It was great to see him again and know that he has a GREAT forever home.

I took off a little early this afternoon to go set up our booth for the Pet Expo at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It is your typical expo, but we are right there when you walk in. Also at our booth will be Sara Beth Photography.

It's a Wheaton day!

Today was a Black Lab and Wheaton day at the doggy daycare! I think just about every one of our black labs and wheatons managed to make it out to play today. Representing the black labs were Bear, Blazer, Brandy, Mojo, Caesar, Homer, Ivy, and Wally. Representing the wheatons were Vivian, Wellington, Hailey, Lucy, and Emerson! Hailey is the one in the picture and she is still a puppy, she spends most of her time playing with the smaller dogs and does great!

We spent lots of our day getting ready for the Twin Cities Pet Expo which is this weekend at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We have some cool stuff planned for our booth, so make sure you check it out. You can't miss us, we are right there when you walk in ;)

We also got some new spa items in. Soon we will be offering more grooming during the week and we are just getting ready for that. We got a new hydrolic grooming table. I decided to sit on it and see if it could lift me up, it did! Pretty fun!

Have you noticed Fletcher our foster dog who likes to hang out by the break room (the 1/2 door by the leashes hanging on the wall in the lobby). He loves to hang out in there and have people pet him. Feel free to say hey! Fletcher is available for adoption from Pet Haven. Speaking of Pet Haven, how do you like the coffee in the lobby in the mornings? I love it, because now I never have to stop at Caribou on the way in!

Another sweet foster dog

I keep telling the people at Pet Haven to stop bringing us sweet dogs for us to foster. Fletcher, who is our latest dogs loves to cuddle. I went back to the playroom today, and saw Fletcher curled up on Heather's lap. He really loves attention and is a people dog! There is no doubt that he will get a forever home really soon!








When you walk into our lobby, you will notice some new artwork which was done Jessie (Louie and Ella's owner) who runs her own company called Stray Dog Arts. She does these custom dog paintings and does an AMAZING job with them! So next time you come in, make sure you take a look at the larger than life painting of Roxy!

It's Ruby

Ruby is another one of the newer faces around the Dog Daycae and a special thanks to Coupon's mom for sending her to us! Ruby is always VERY active and will hardly stop playing all day!

Oh, just because we are on vacation does not mean the fun stops. We just received some new Bark and Biscuit collars, check them out ;)

Lucy and Claire

Our staff sent me this picture that they took at the daycare. It is Lucy (Schnauzer) and Claire (puggle). Both of these girls love to play on the equipment.

Trisha and I are still on vacation and there are lots of dogs on Grand Cayman and they are all pretty well behaved. There are no leash laws here and many of the dog owners just let the dogs walk the beach next to them! The dogs are really behaved and the love running and playing in the ocean.

Things at the daycare are going great, we make sure to check in all the time and our staff is doing a wonderful job!

It's WARM!

So This week Trisha and I are on vacation in Grand Cayman and we might have had a few too many mudslides when we made this sandcastle!! Every February we try to go someplace warm, and I am a firm believer in working hard (which we have done) and playing hard!! So while we are gone this week, the daycare is in the great hands of our 2 managers Heather and Ash (don't worry, we are keeping a very close eye on everything since our hotel has Wifi). We bribed the staff and told them if everything runs smoot while we are gone, we will havea great reward for them (little do they know it will be a seashell, HAHA, just kidding). There will still be a few blog updates this week and we will still gave away a free day of daycare for "know your breeds" which happens on the blog Wednesday at noon.

Ruby

Meet Ruby, a Jack Russell puppy. Ruby has so much energy, and never stops moving. One of Ruby's good friends is Coupon (Boston terrier mix), these 2 girls could play all day long!

So today, I tried to install our new "surprise", and failed! Have you ever tried putting something together with 20 dogs looking on thinking that they can help! All the big dogs really wanted to help and some of them even tried to climb on it. So that is why it is not up and running. I knwo you are dying to know what we got, so I will just tell you. (drum roll) We got indoor potty systems for the dogs, so they never have to go outside when it is cold. This system is HUGE and really cool and even pumps out all the "waste" every hour!! I think I will need to come in late one night and put them together, because when the dogs are there it is too hard, trust me, I spent 3 hours today trying, but all of them just wanted to play with me!

Mojo

Mojo is one of our many puppies that like to come to daycare a few days each week. Mojo loves to try to dig in the water bowl and has even been known to knock it over a few times ;) .. He just loves the water, last summer he loved to play in the pool and with the hose!!

I was so excited yesterday, this big semi truck showed up and dropped off a big surprise for all the doggies! I spent the afternoon getting it ready, and hopefully we should have everything set to try it out tomorrow.

UPDATE: WE HAVE A WINNER, AND WOW THAT WENT FAST! CHLOE'S MOM WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO GET IT CORRECT (IT DOES TAKE TIME FOR THE COMMENTS TO BE PUBLISHED). The correct response was Anotolian Sheperd, which is the same breed as Bindi, who was our first daycare dog. Since this was fun, we will do this every Wednesday at noon. Georgie is the Ladies Man

Move over Austin Powers, there is a new ladies man in town! Georgie, the golden retriever puppy! Today our cameras found him snuggled up next to 2 ladies within 10 minutes of each other. First Cosi (French Bulldog puppy) was snuggled up next to Georgie on one of our play ramps. Than about 10 minutes later, Georgie moved on to Schatzie (German Short Hair puppy). Go Georgie!! I think some of the other dogs are jealous of his "skillz".

It's Super Bowl Sunday
