Happy Birthday Dupree!

Today I went to the daycare to work on our new room that we are in the process of building. Dupree, one of our Doggy Daycare Dogs was dropped off to play for the day and he came with a git for all the other dogs. Today was his birthday and he brought treats for everyone! I guess, this is the perfect picture to put up of Dupree, it will make us think of warmer weather!!

Have a good weekend!

We're Irish!

Meet Dublin, one of our newest boxer puppies. Dublin loves to come to doggy daycare and plays great! Today he spent the morning playing with Sam who is a golden puppy! Dublin keeps getting bigger and bigger!

We just added some new pictures to the photo gallery, so make sure you check it out.

Oh, so I guess all my ranting and raving about Qwest paid off. The corporate office contacted me and told me "i was valued" and added a credit to our bill, which does not fix what happened but makes me feel a little better. So that is my update :)

Hope you have a good night.

Bear

Bear is one of our regular daycare dogs. When bear first started coming to daycare, he would come 2 or 3 days a week and now he gets to play everyday!! Bear is really well behaved and knows how to play great! He has been caught napping with his "girlfriend" Brandi another black lab!

Today started out with an early call to Qwest to find out what is going on with our internet. I learned something. I had the local phone number of one of the account supervisors, I dialed it and reached his voice mail, then I pressed zero, reached another voice mail and pressed zero, i finally talked to someone in accounting. I told them my problem and somehow was transferred to the reginal manager for Qwest. This guy was able to get our internet turned back on in about an hour! I guess it pays to go to the top of the chain. If you ever have a problem with Qwest, I have saved that local number, let me know if you need it. If you ever call the daycare and want to talk to Trisha or myself, you can press 5 for Trisha or 4 for myself and you are connected directly to our cell phones if we are not at the daycare. We really do try to go above and beyond in the customer service department!

Today a big semi truck pulled into the parking lot and it was the new flooring for the new room that we have built! It should be done by the end of the week, then Trisha has the task of decorating it and making it look good!

Have a good night.

Ellie goes home, and I go on another rant

Ellie is one of our daycare regulars, but for the past week she has been one of our hotel guests! She had so much fun and did great! Last night after most of the daycare dogs left, we brought out a bunch of the toys and Ellie loved every minute of it. Today she had a free bath (we give each dog a free bath after 5 nights in the hotel) and she went home with her mom. It was a great reunion and everyone was happy to see each other!

If you are a regular reader of the blog, you will know how much I value good customer service. Long story short. Qwest had a problem with our fiber optic internet that we use to stream the webcams. I called them at 7am this morning and was told that it would be fixed by noon today. It is now 7:14pm and after 3 calls to Qwest, it will not be fixed until tomorrow. I understand that mistakes happen, but don't tell me it will be done at noon, when you know it will not be done. I am very sorry for the webcams not working, but they should be up and running again soon. Our main computer is online using a dial up modem, I thought those things went out in 1996!! I have had nothing by bad customer service from Qwest, and am now exploring other options for our internet and phone needs at the daycare. If you know of any good local companies let me know.

Have a good night.

Adopt Lexus

Lexus is our latest foster dog from Pet Haven, and she is s sweet! She is about 40 pounds and we think she is a huskie and Sheba Inu mix (that is our guess, not Pet Havens), and did we mention she has one blue eye!! Lexus really plays well with all the dogs. Yesterday she spent a long time playing with Copper, who is a Sheba puppy! If you have questions about Lexus, just ask or contact Pet Haven.

Sorry I did not put a blog up last night. I ended up working our evening shift at the daycare and my schedule was a bit thrown off.

Have a good day!

Georgie the puppy

Georgie is one of the newest puppies that comes to the doggy daycare. Today is his 2nd full day of daycare and he has also attended Puppy Play Time this past weekend. Georgie has the cute puppy eyes and play style and does great with all the dogs. I just want to snuggle up with him!

Reminder, this weekend we have Puppy Play Time on Saturday at 1pm and Tiny Tails Social Club Sunday at 1pm.

Have a good night.

Moby arrives in style!

Moby is one of the French Bulldogs that comes to daycare pretty often and he loves to sport cool and trendy clothes! Today he showed up wearing his ski jacket. He is all ready to hit the slopes in style! I know I have sad this before, but I really like how cool some of the small dog clothing is! We have tried to find trendy and cool large dog stuff for Roxy and there is not much out there! I took about 8 pictures of Moby when he came in with the jacket, and tried so hard to get him to look at the camera, but he just wanted to go in the room and play!

Have a good afternoon.

Happy Birthday Whiskey!

Today was Whiskey's birthday and his mom brought in treats for him to share with his friends. Everyone enjoyed the treats!! I tried to get a new picture of Whiskey, but he kept playing to much and would not sit still, so we had to use his Halloween Picture.

So Happy Birthday Whiskey!

Otis

Otis is by far one of the largest dogs that comes to the daycare everyday! He is an 11 month old great dane puppy and loves to run, play and rest. His new favorite past time is to try and crawl through the holes in the play equipment. Almost every other dog is able to fit through the hole, but Otis makes it about half way and then backs his way out. It is pretty funny to watch.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Schatzie

Schatzie is one of the dogs that comes to daycare every Monday through Friday. Most daycare dogs don't come everyday, but the ones that do there is normally a reason that they come so often! Schatzie likes to find things in her owners house to eat. Schatzie is still a puppy and will eventually outgrow it, and has gotten much better at home since she has been at doggy daycare. Schatzie loves to run almost all the time, but we did catch her laying down the other day!

I stopped in at the daycare today to check on the construction that was going on, it looks like everything is going great! Hopefully it will be done soon, so we can start to show off the new area!

Have a good weekend!

Cooper loves his belly rubs!

We get lots of retrievers at the doggy daycare, and everyone always asks "how can you tell all the dogs apart?". With Cooper (in the picture with Trisha) it is very simple. He always comes up to you and places his front paws up on you so you will rub his belly! He does it all the time and it is really cute!

Today was another packed day at the daycare, because it was so cold out. I really can't stress the importance of making a reservation, because when it is this cold we fill up very fast. Thanks to KARE 11, I found out that we have spend over 66 hours below zero! OUCH! Good news, it will be a bit nicer this weekend. We do have our Puppy Playtime and Tiny Tails Social Club going on this weekend. Click Here for more details.

Let the remodel begin

Today was the first day of construction on the new training room! I can't believe how fast these guys work! All the walls are torn down and they are already plastering all the holes! The whole room should be done in about 2 weeks.

Dylan is one of our Daycare dogs who loves to have fun. Dylan LOVES to play hard and gets even more excited when we bring out the balls! He loves to chase them!

I just put a bunch of new pictures in the photo album.

I was going through some of my favorite blogs, and was reading the Pet Haven one! I saw our last foster dog Missy on there and remembered how sweet she was! I really hope that all of the black dogs that have up for adoption are able to find a home soon! You can click here to read more about it.

Have a good night.

Copper

Today I spent a good deal of time in the smaller dog playroom and one of the dogs that comes on a regular basis is Copper, a Shiba Inu puppy. He started when he was a little guy and I noticed today how much bigger he has gotten.

Today we were 100% full and had to turn some dogs away. It is so hard doing that, but we really try hard to make sure that we are never overbooked (like Northwest Airlines... haha).

Hope everyone is able to stay warm tonight.

cold, construction and coffee

Tobler is one of the puppies that loves to come to doggy daycare! Today his parents asked us to trim his nails before he went home. Personally I think he was more excited for the attention he received while getting his nails trimmed.

Today I spent most of the day cleaning out the rooms where the construction will take place tomorrow. There was lots of stuff in the rooms (we never used these rooms since we opened last year, they were all old offices).

So the weather is going to be pretty cold this week, make sure you enjoy some of out HOT Caribou Coffee that is in the lobby area. All the profits from the coffee go to Pet Haven. Speaking of Pet Haven, out last foster dog, was just placed in a foster home. Missy is a great black lab mix and played awesome with all the dogs. You can contact Pet Haven for more information on Missy and all of their other dogs and cats.

Have a good night and stay warm!

Blue Walls and Blue Dog!

Today I went into the daycare to get a few projects done since we will be starting our remodeling project on Tuesday. I have always wanted to re-paint the walls in the large dog play area (i did this to the small dog area about a month ago). Today was the perfect day to do this since all the big and small dogs were able to get along and play awesome with each other. So we put all the dogs in the small dog play area and I painted all the walls. Roxy, our dog wanted to help (she always has to be with Trisha or myself) and we let her be by me. I started painting and realized our dog looked like a smurf! Her back was all blue because she had been leaning on the wall. Bottom line is the walls look great blue, and so does Roxy.

Tonight we are taking our staff out for our Holiday Party. They really put in lots of hard work over the holidays and we wanted to thank them for everything that they have done to keep things running smooth!

Have a good night!

Just Added... Puppy Playime

You asked for it.. You got it... Every Saturday from 1-2pm we will have a puppy playtime in our training room. Heather will supervise the event. You can click here to register for the playtime.

We have also created a new online calendar of all of our events. Just click here to view it.

One more thing, the weather will be really cold this week, when that happens the daycare always fills up. Make sure you have made your reservation.

Have a great weekend.

Homer

Homer is one of our regular daycare dogs! He always has so much fun playing with all the big dogs, and he also is great about resting.

One of the joys of owning your own business is you get to make your own hours, and one of the downsides to owning your own business is you have to fill in when people are sick. Yesterday, heather was sick and I ended up working the entire day (which is fine because I really love being there), so I ended up taking today off. Trisha was at the daycare and said that all the dogs were doing great (if enough people ask her, maybe one day she will blog).

I will be around the daycare on Saturday for a few hours because we are starting some remodeling projects next week and need to take care of a few last minute details. You might be wondering what the projects are... Well, we are creating a new training room which will be bigger and easier for everyone to get to. The old training room will be changed into an overnight area for the doggies. More details will come soon.

Have a great weekend!

Toby

Toby is an Australian Cattle Dog that has been staying over the past few nights and is doing great. Today when I was in the smaller dog play area, I sat down and Toby was the first one to come over to get petted, and you can tell he loves the attention! Then all the rest of the dogs came over and everyone got a nice petting.

Tomorrow Moby (french bulldog) will be coming for daycare, you have to see the cute jacket comes in with. Hopefully I can get a picture of him wearing it.

Have a good night.

We're off to a great start!

You can tell that the world has returned to normal after the holidays, and it is great to be back to normal. One of the dogs that comes to daycare everyday is Boogey who is also known as "that big white dog in the little dog play room". Boogey enjoyed his break, but he was really happy to see me again!

What else is going on? Well, we are working an doing some minor remodeling in the next few weeks. These should be some exciting changes, but we are not exactly sure what we will be doing yet, but when we know I will clue you in. Also, Ash who has been one of our employees since July or August (I can't remember how long it has been), will now be the assistant manager on Sunday and Mondays.

Have a good night.

Tiny Tails Day

Today we had our first Tiny Tails Social Club of 2009. This is a great way for smaller dogs (20 pounds or less) to get together and play in our training room. Ash, one of our staff members supervised the play group and all the dogs had so much fun. We do this every Sunday at 1pm and we ask that you make a reservation.

Henry is the dog that is in the picture. Ash tells me that Henry did great and had so much fun playing! Most of our holiday dogs have gone home now, so that will mean that we have more room for the daycare dogs. We limit the number of dogs that come in the play areas because we want to make sure each dog has enough room to play and to rest. You can alwas call 952-922-8183 to see if there is space for daycare, or make a reservation online.

Have a good night.

Are you bored at work today?

I know everyone slacks at work on Fridays, and really who is working today? I have been swamped doing year end paperwork for the daycare, and I found out that I get more done at home than when I am with the dogs. It is just too tempting to put things off and go play with all the dogs.
So I started to look up Pampered Pooch Playground on the internet, and was shocked that we had a few reviews on Google. That is really cool! Then I started to think that it would be great to have more.... Help us out and write an honest rating of Pampered Pooch Playground on Google. Click Here to go to our reviews page. Be open, Be Honest ;)

Maybe if I get all the stuff done, I will do another blog with a fun game or something else you can waste time with.

Happy Friday!

A Cute Video to start the day

We have a bunch of bulldogs that come to the daycare on a regular basis (Boss, Titan, Bryan and others). This morning I was watching the Today show and saw the cutest video. Click Here to watch it. Maybe one day, one of our bulldogs can do that!

Stay warm, it is cold outside today!

Happy 2K9

I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Years eve. We had a bunch of hotel guests last night, and Trisha and I came in early to play with the dogs today! Gus, a shih tzu puppy has been with us for about 5 nights. His dad is one of the Gopher football coaches and they had to travel to the bowl game. We kept petting Gus for good luck in the game, but we lost. Oh well, Gus did great with all the dogs and had so much fun. I am so sad to see him go home today!

Oh, we added some new pictures to the photo album for January. I guess we don't waste any time!

Have a good day!
