Stella loves to play

Stella is one of the boxer-mix dogs that comes to daycare. Stella loves to run with the dogs, then hide under some of the play equipment. All the dogs enjoyed laying outside today. This might be the nicest day until next spring, so they really enjoyed sunning themselves!

One of our staff members had a bad cold today, so we told her to take the day off, which means I had to put in a few extra hours, but it was worth it. All the dogs were so much fun to play with today! Now it is time to watch my favorite TV Show.

Kinnick

Kinnick is a Sheltie that comes to daycare and loves to play with all the smaller dogs. Today Kinnick spent the afternoon running around with Butters (Yorkie) and Sasha (American Eskimo). Kinnick also loves to run and chase the ball.

Only a few more days to vote on the Woof-n-Treat costume contest. Unlike the real election we let you vote as much as you want. All the votes need to be in Friday at 3pm.

I found some really fun videos online, it has nothing to do with doggy daycare, but they are pretty fun!

Happy Birthday Ellie!!

Today Eloise (Ellie) came in wearing her Halloween bandanna and we were told that it was her birthday! So happy 1st birthday to Ellie!! She spent her birthday running around and playing with Hobie, (another westie), and Moby (a French Bulldog).

I was all excited to try our new bubble machine, but it did not work correctly. So now I need to send it back. Fun times.

Drake, our new foster dog

Meet Drake, our newest foster dog. Drake was hit by a car and was taken to a local vet, but Drake was never claimed by his owner. Because Drake was hit by a car, he only has 3 legs but is filled with LOVE!!! We don't have Drake in the play areas too much, because the vet wants him to build up his legs, but he has played with our dog Roxy and a few others. He is such a sweet dog, and I would love to adopt him. I took Drake for a walk today and loves to run and play in the grass. For more on Drake, ask us or read about him on the Pet Haven blog.

Cooper

Cooper is one of the Golden Retrievers that loves to come to daycare. He loves to sit on his hind legs while he puts his upper legs on you while you pet him.

Last week i got a bright idea for something we can add to our play area. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but we plan to use it tomorrow and I know all the dogs will love it and the staff is pretty excited as well! What is it? I will give you one hint.... It came from Amazon.com. All the details tomorrow. I bet you might even see it in use if you watch the webcams tomorrow morning around 1oish.

A Big Saturday

Saturday was a busy day for the Pampered Pooch Playground staff. We stared off the day with the Stunt Puppy K9-5K. It was a bit chilly outside, but there were so many dogs wearing cool costumes. We got to hang out with the Sidewalk Dog people in their tent, they are always so much fun!

Then we had out Woof-n-Treat Halloween party. We had an AMAZING turnout and everyone was into the costumes. Sarah Beth Photography was there taking pictures of all the dogs. Soon we will have all the costumes on our website, so you can vote for your favorite costume. It was great to see all the owners and be able to talk with them.

Thanks to everyone for making is a huge success yesterday!

Keith goes on a rant..

Fritz is one of the dogs that came for daycare today and is a Boston Terrier. He loves to run and play and spent most of the day playing with Cosi, the French Bulldog Puppy. Today we finished the hallway flooring in the area off the lobby. It looks great and we are going to add some more of the bigger suites here.

So let me go on a rant about customer service for a minute. My car needed service work on it and I dropped it off last night at the dealer, so they could look at it first thing in the morning (the appointment was at 7:15). They said that they would call me with an estimate. Noon came, and I never heard anything, so I called them. They had not gotten to the car yet and said they would call me within an Hour. Then 3pm came and they had not called and I called and spoke with the service manager and told him how upset I was. I don't really think he cared that much until I said I was on my way to pick up the car to take someplace else. Then he really started to kiss my rear (my guess is because he saw he was going to lose a sale for the day). I get that everyone makes mistakes and things, but there is NO EXCUSE for poor service. I will never go to this dealer again (and it is almost time for a new car). I love good service and love to give good service, which is what we have all of our staff do. If there is anything that happens and you feel you did not receive GREAT SERVICE from us, please, please let me know. Roxy's new collar

We just started to carry some of our favorite collars from Bark + Biscuit and they are now on display in our lobby area. These collars are designed locally in the Twin Cities and have cool patterns and are built really well! Roxy loves her new collar!

Today we had another busy day in the daycare. You might notice that some of the webcams are lower to the ground so you can see the dogs even better. I am obsessed with the camera placement, so if there is anything you would like changed, let me know.

We also had some construction work going on. We are building some more of the larger suites and putting new flooring in some of the hallways. We love to keep building and making things even better! All of the dust and mess should be gone in a day.

Bella

Bella is a ex-show dog who loves to come to daycare! Bella has perfected her "sit Pretty", where she puts both front paws up in the air. Bella also loves to drink water from our spray bottles. Today she spent the entire day running around and playing with her best friend Bindi.

Mirabelle (a doodle), one of our daycare dogs requested a bath today. I had never seen her play in the water before so was not quite sure how she would do with a bath, but she was GREAT! She loved the water and loved getting a bath.

Mojo

Trisha and I just got back from a weekend with her family in Wisconsin. One of the first dogs in the door today was Mojo who is one of our many puppies that comes to the daycare. Mojo is one of the puppies that is obsessed with water. He will drink form the hose, drink from the spray bottle, and LOVES to dig in the water dish and lay in the water he has spilled out. Mojo is a really great dog and loves to play with the ball and all the other dogs.

We are very busy getting ready for our Woof-n-Treat Halloween party. Please make sure you have your reservation in by Wednesday so we can make sure we have plenty of goodies!

Roxy's Fall Picture

Trisha and love to do little photo sessions with Roxy, and she loves to pose for pictures. Last night we were walking and started to take some pictures of the fall colors, and then roxy started to pose for the camera. This would be a great weekend to get some pictures of your dog with a great backdrop. We would love to see your pictures that you take, just email them to us. Last year we took Roxy to the apple orchard with us, and she had a blast and she loves apples!

Trisha and I are out of town this weekend, we are going to visit her family is Wisconsin. I am actually blogging from my laptop as we drive there now!

The hotel is almost full

Today, one of our first daycare dogs was Mr McGee. He loves to run and play with all of the smaller dogs and really liked the new smaller play equipment. I looked at our hotel reservations and wondered why we were almost full. Then I found out that all the Minnesota schools have today and tomorrow off. So we have lots of overnight guests tonight. I should remind everyone that this is why we always ask for reservations. We do cut off the number of dogs we allow in the building, we never want to be too busy, and not able to spend enough time with each dog.

We also received our new collars from Bark + Biscuit. We fell in love with these designs and love that they are designed locally!! They are a huge hit and we had to get Roxy one of them. Check them out next time you are in.

Daisy and Latte

Daisy and Latte have been spending the night for the past few days. These 2 dogs are the cutest things ever. They always stay next to each other and love playing with all the smaller dogs running around all of the equipment. They also love to hugged and petted. Since it has started to turn cool outside, if you would like to bring some clothing for the smaller dogs to wear you can, but keep in mind that the are playing and something might happen to the clothing. We will keep the clothing in their mailbox, and if they look chilled, we will put it on them. We do heat the play area and keep it between 70-75 degrees.

We finally have our new sign installed outside the building. We want to thank Brent's Sign Company for doing a great job! They are a local St Louis Park Business, and very "green minded", which is something we really believe in.

Speaking of going green, we now offer re-usable bags in our lobby. These can be used for just about anything, and make a great overnight bag for your pooch.

Today was another great day at daycare and all the dogs enjoyed the cooler fall weather!

More new play stuff

Lucy and Lucy (how ironic that both dogs are named Lucy) approved the new play equipment in our back play area. We tried to find more equipment for our smaller friends, and they all seem to love it. Plus, Lucy the schnauzer is all ready for the fall with her sweater!

Today has been a lazy day around the house and I just uploaded some new pictures to our photo album. Fritz (in the picture) loves to run and fetch all the toys!

Dakota loves to play

Dakota is one of our Great Danes that loves to come for daycare. Dakota loves to run around the room, we have never seen him lay down! He is a great dog, and plays so well with everyone. Dakota is always the biggest dog in the room, and he loves to try to walk through all of the employees legs. He must think he is a horse or something.

I stopped into the daycare today to get a few projects done. You will notice we have more barkology clothing in the lobby. Today was also the first Doga Class and it was a huge hit!!!

Brother and Sister love

Duke (on the right) has been a regular at daycare and his brand new sister, Ruby (on the left) has just started to come. They have been brother and sister for about 2 weeks and they can't be more alike! They have the same personality and play style. Heck, they even drink water at the same time. Duke loves to show off his brand new sister and they love to play with all the dogs, especially Bindi (if you are a regular blog reader, you will remember that we want to have a doggy wedding with them).

Meet Bear

Bear loves to run around and play with all of the dogs in the daycare. Bear is one of the many black labs that like to come and play. The way we really remember Bear is because he ate 2 tubes of lipstick when he was left home alone one day. Now when his parents leave the house they have to "bear proof" the house. Bear loves to run and play and is addicted to fetching the ball with his pal Brandy (another black lab).

Mia, the Leonberger, who has been spending the night for the past few nights has really grown close to me today. Normally, she has been a little more stand-offish with guys, but today she could not get enough belly rubs. She followed me all around the play area! I was sad to see her go home!

Great News!!

Remember Jasper, our first foster dog? I just found out that he has found a "forever home". Erin who is one of our staff members, is fostering a dog at her house! Dutch (also known as Komo) is a great dog with a great personality. Check out his blog here.

Roxy and her "squeekie"

We don't normally blog about our dog Roxy, but every now and then she wants to be a rock star on the website. About 3 weeks ago we brought home one of the toys that we sell in the lobby from Fat Cat for Roxy to play with. Roxy loves her new "squekie" and we are shocked that she has not broken it yet. She can break a tennis ball in about 40 seconds. So tonight we decided to do a photo shoot with Roxy and her favorite new toy.

Doggie Palooza

Today we had a booth at Doggie Palooza! It was a great time, we saw many of our customers there and got to meet a bunch more! I was looking at all the dogs walking past and saw a dog that looked like Lacey, our foster dog (by the way there is a update about her on Pet Haven's blog). I went over and started petting her and found out it was not Lacey. Silly me! I really want Lacey to find a great home!

Anyway it was a grea time and Trisha got to watch Bindi (one of our daily daycare dogs) go Lure Chasing! I hear she was great at it!!

Fun on the table

Who would have thought that a small table would be so much fun. Today Charley (terrier mix) and Cosi (french bulldog puppy) spent hours chasing each other around and under the table. Finally Cosi jumped on top of the table and was scared to come down. She did her little squeek bark and we helped her down.

Today we ordered some more play equipment, it should be here in a few days. My friends daycare uses this equipment and the dogs love it, so we thought we would give it a try.

Just a reminder, Doga starts up really soon. Do you know what Doga is? It is Yoga with your dog and this has taken off in many large cities and we want to bring it to Minneapolis. For all of the details, click here.

Remember Jasper, our first foster dog from Pet Haven? He is the sweetest thing and I have fallen in love with him! I really miss him at the daycare, and he needs to come back and visit soon :) Anyway check out this update on Jasper! Click Here.

We are fostering another dog for Pet Haven, Lacey is another sweetie. She is a Rottie Sheppard mix and loves belly rubs. Ask any of the staff about her and they will tell youhow sweet she really is!

Leaf

Leaf is one of our regular daycare dogs and he loves to run around with the bigger dogs and he is also addicted to drinking out of the hose! Anytime we fill up a water bucket, leaf is right next to you ready to drink! Leaf always puts a smile on our face at the daycare.
