Jack, loves to come to daycare, and he has been known to spend a night or two in the Hotel. He loves to run, play and then rest on the table in the room!

Good news for Ari, our foster dog from Pet Haven. Today she found a family that is really intersted in her. I love seeing our foster dogs finding a great home! The hardest part about fostering dogs at the daycare, is that you get really attached to them, but knowing they are going to a good home really helps!

a busy week!

Today I was busy getting ready for the busy weekend. As expected, we are full for the holiday weekend (we filled up about 3 weeks ago). This means that I have to use any down time to make sure everything is all ready for the weekend. Today, I put together some brand new suites in our new overnight room. They look great, and we will be adding more of them tomorrow. I feel bad on days like this because I don't get to spend as much time with the dogs or customers as I would like (if you really want, you can pick up a wrench and help put things together, haha).

I figured I would blog about one of the smaller dogs that comes to doggy daycare. Syd is a miniature Australian Shepard. Syd's dad is the brains behind Topline Canine, which is the shampoo and conditioner we use in the grooming salon and what we sell in the lobby. This shampoo is great!! Speaking of which, it is time for me to give our dog Roxy a bath so she looks good for the 4th of July!

Come meet Cosi.

Cosi is one of the regualr daycare dogs, who comes almost every day. So we figured that she would be the perfect dog to help represent the PPP at the Twin Cities Pride festival. Cosi was a big hit there today and she did a great job meeting and greeting everyone. An now a shameless plug for Cosi's mom. She is a hair dresser at James Lauren Salon. So if you are looking for an amazing hairdresser with a really cool dog, give her a call at (612) 920-9591 and say you want to have Cosi's mom, Michaela do your hair.

So Many Boston's today

Whoa, today we had a bunch of Boston terriers at the daycare. On an average day we might have 1, but today we had 4! Jack, Dante, Kimbo and Edie (in the picture). They all played great! I spent a good part of the day getting all of our stuff ready for the Pride Festival that is this weekend. If you are attending, make sure you stop at our booth #4084 which is right behind the basketball court. We will have plenty of water for the dogs, and some special pride goodies for sale!

Tonight, Trisha and I went to Sarah Beth's gallery show at Scoopy Poo. It was a great turnout and she showed off some great work!!

Beer with your buddy

Tonight was the first time this season that we were at Beer with your Buddy. It was a great time and the bubbles were a HUGE hit. It was great to see so many of our dogs out there! I was talking to one dog owner and they were shocked that we limit the number of dogs that come to play each day and that we have been full almost every day since the beginning of the year. I told him it is because we have great customers, and they are like a little family to us ;) The next beer with your buddy that we will be at is next month. Join our email list and we will make sure you stay up to date on all the happenings.

Another hot day

Yep, it was another hot day outside, but once again all the dogs stayed nice and cool inside playing. We also used all the pools and water outside and all the "water dogs" loved it! I really don't know how some daycares in our area can go without air conditioning. YUCK!! Ellie (in the picture) was one of the dogs that loves being in the air conditioning. Heck, Ellie loves the air conditioning almost as much as she loves her different bandannas!

Tonight is a big night for the PPP. We are going to be on the Fox 9 news talking about pampering dogs! That was a subject really hard for us to talk about :) If you miss it, I will have a link to the video online tomorrow.

The adventures of Lucy

Lucy, who is one of the regular faces around the daycare, was so excited today when she got back into the play area because Willie was there! You might remember from a few months back that these 2 are boyfriend and girlfriend, well they were reunited today in the small dog play area. They wasted no time running around and playing with each other. We even caught them taking a nap together.

today was a really warm day outside, it was about 85 and really, really humid! Good thing our play area is air conditioned! We had a great group of dogs that loved playing outside in the pools and with the hose today! Lots of fun!!!

Everyone loves a puppy!

This is Matilda, and today was her first day of doggie daycare and boy did she LOVE it! This morning when she came in, she ran right up to me. Then the fun began, I took her back to the play area, and she could not wait to go play. She played so well all morning, that she relaxed with a long nap around noon. Matilda is a 3 month old Vizsla.

Today was a busy morning in the spa. Jenny had a few dogs to groom and they looked great when she was done! Jenny is just a great groomer and we are so glad to have her around.

Moby's Birthday and the new iPhone app

Today is a HUGE day for the PPP. Not only is it Moby the french bulldog's 2nd birthday (and he brought in a bunch of yummy treats for everyone), our new iPhone application was released. I just checked with Apple, and we are the first and only doggy daycare in the country to create an app for our business. That is pretty darn cool! If you have an iPhone, you can click here to download it, or search "pooch vision" in the iTunes store. Oh, one more thing, it is 100% FREE! Got a Blackberry, no worries, we are working on one for you as well.

Tuffy and the Pool

Tuffy is a newer face around the doggy daycare, but has stayed in the hotel a few times. This morning around 11am, we decided to bring out the pools and play with the water. To say Tuffy loves the water is an understatement! He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the water. Even when all the other dogs were tired of playing with it, he managed to keep going.

Hether just announced some new training class dates on the training page.

Finally, some warm weather!

Yes, the warmth has finally returned and the dogs love the warm weather because that means "fun with water". We broke out one of the pools today and started off with the smaller dog group. They had a great time playing in them or sunbathing while others played. Ari (one of our Pet Haven foster dogs) can blow bubbles in the pool! Then came the big dogs, who really get into the water. Sky and Dylan (in the picture) think that they own the pool. Dylan gets so excited for water play that his back leg starts shaking in excitement the minute he sees the hose!

Lots of dogs, lots of fun!

Chloe (Wheaton) and Naiya (golden) had a great time in the smaller and more laid back room! Funny thing is both of these dogs are larger, but they really love the little dogs and do so much better with them! We do put larger dogs in with the little guys, but they are the dogs that we really know and trust with them. Our dog Roxy, LOVES the little guys!

Today the Daycare was full, and we ended up turning away people that did not have reservations. This is why it is so important to make a reservation or call ahead to make sure there is space. We can handle many more dogs than we accept each day, but we want to make sure each dog has enough space to lay down and rest without getting run over.

I don't know how many of you are on Yelp!, but if you are you will see the latest newsletter that was sent out to everyone in Minneapolis. Guess who was mentioned in it?? Yelp! is a great website that offers un-biased opinions on any type of business and they do not allow businesses to remove reviews. This has really been my new past time, and I love writing reviews. Many of you will remember what a big deal OUTSTANDING customer service is to me, and this is a great way to let others know. Anyway, if you want to read the email that was sent out, click here! I did not even know they were going to mention us in it, so it was a huge surprise when I saw it!

Shhh.. Lilly and Jack are napping

The other day Trisha caught Lilly (Basset Hound) and Jack (Boston Terrier) napping! Both of these dogs are regulars at doggy daycare.

This morning I gave Meko, our newest foster dog from Pet Haven a bath because he really needed it. He is really a great dog that has just been entered into the Pet Haven group and is looking for a home. He is a black lab mix who has lots of energy. Meko plays great with all of the big dogs and he also knows how to rest! Meko has been with us for 2 days and seems to really love doggy daycare. Pictures will be added soon.

Ember... So Tired

I love getting these types of pictures emailed to us, because it means that we are doing our job :) This is Ember, after a day at Doggy Daycare.

I think we got all of the bugs out of the new internet service. Since it was installed last week it has gone down a few times, but it is quickly restored. We know how much everyone loves to watch the webcams, and this is why we switched to a company that could provide a better speed so even more people can watch at one time. So hopefully everything has been worked out.

Today i spent a good part of the day working on our new overnight room (the same room that we once used for training classes). This should be done in the next few days.

Roxy and Roxy

Today Trisha, Roxy and myself went to the Edina Art Fair and we had to stop out to see Jessie at her booth (Stray Dog Arts). While we were there, Roxy started posing for the camera and showing off the painting that Jessie did of her. Roxy was a huge hit at the booth. We had a great time there, and Roxy did really well with the crowd of people. Everyone wanted to pet her, and she loved the attention (I think her rockstar-ness is going to her head). look for more of Jessie's work in the daycare really soon.

Weekend Plans?

Here is Louie, who loves to come to daycare and even knows the phrase "want to go see uncle Keith?", came to daycare today with his sister Ella (black lab in the front of the picture). Louie is great about being the bigger brother, and watching out for his younger sister. Louie and Ella's mom is the person that painted the portrait of Roxy that is hanging in the lobby. If you are looking for a fun weekend event, make sure you check out the Edina Art Fair, and stop by the Stray Dog Arts booth (#505) and say "hey" to Jessie. Tell her "uncle Keith" sent you!

Simon and his bubble

Simon is one of the English Bulldogs that comes to daycare. He loves to sit outside and sun himself, and he gets mad when you try to bring him inside. The other day Simon had fun playing with the bubbles!!

Last night we had the Wine and Wag event, and it was great to see so many of our dogs at this great event. I will put up a link to many of the pictures soon.

Willie loves to play

Willie spent the night last night. Willy always gets excited the minute he sees anyone and he loves to play. This Yesterday he spent a good amount of time playing outside with Max who is a Lab. Willie always has lots of energy and I don't know how he does it! I can't take credit for taking this picture of Willie, it was taken by Kim, one of our newest staff members.

It was a big day!

Today we upgraded our internet speed, which means that all the webcams can handle even more users and the speed has increased. There were parts of the day when the cameras were down for a few minutes, but it was worth it to switch it over. You will also notice that when you call the daycare, the automated system has gone away. I figured that it was not personal enough ;)

Oh, I just put together a fun little video of our first doggy daycare dog that walked through our doors over a year ago. Happy watching.

Is it the dog days of summer already?

Roux is one of the newer dogs that comes to doggy daycare. Today our camera caught this Miniature Australian Shepard sleeping outside under the umbrella. Roux is just a puppy, but loves to play with all the dogs and she plays great!

Tomorrow, we will be getting a new phone system installed and there might be a period of time when our phone is not available. We are excited for the new system and the blazing fast internet we will have for the webcams!
