Twins or White Sox and a great video

Today was one of those days that it was hard to be a White Sox fan living in Minneapolis. One of our first customers (Rocky's dad) was sporting his twins gear, and was driving to Chicago to watch the game tonight. I was super jellous and looked up flights to go see the game. Too bad the best fare I found was $965.00. Then when I was just feeling like there was no hope, Ellie came in wearing her White Sox bandanna. Because I am a devoted White Sox fan, she got to wear her bandanna all day long and tease all the other dogs :) Hopefully it brings the White Sox some luck tonight! Who needs a "Circle me Bert" when you can "Put it on the board..... YES!".

Today we had Jenny, our groomer come in for a final walkthrough before her first day of grooming on Saturday. There were a few little things that needed to done, but we are all set.

The day ended, with Boogie's mom asking me if i checked my email. I looked and loved the video that she sent. If you are into pop music, the song "I kissed a girl" was remade into "I kissed a dog". Feel free to watch it, it is pretty funny!

New Pictures and Daisy

Meet Daisy. She is one of the sweetest dogs, and we love to make her smile. When she smiles, her gums go up and she shows off all off her teeth. It is one of the cutest things. She is always so happy! Daisy spent the past few days in the hotel and I was really sad to see her go home!

I just added new pictures to the photo album. Click Here to see them.

Sorry to keep this short tonight, but there is some good TV on! The Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives. Have a good night!

Lucy

Lucy the schnauzer is another one of our regular daycare dogs. Today, her boyfriend, Henry the schnauzer was at the daycare. These 2 love birds spent the day flirting back and forth. Lucy had to follow Henry all around the play area.

Other news from the day.... Take my advice and don't order from the Jimmy John's that just opened in St Louis Park. It took them 75 minutes to deliver our 2 sandwiches for lunch. After 2 calls to the store and 1 call to their corporate office the food finally showed up. The coke was really watered down (because we think it was sitting in the delivery guys car for an hour) and they got the order wrong. So if you are looking for a good sandwich for lunch, let me suggest another one of my favorite Chicago chain resturants, Potbelly. Events like these really make me understand how important it is to provide OUTSTANDING customer service. If you ever need anything please, please let me know. You can always call the daycare and press 4 to be directly connected to my cell phone.

Have a great weekend, I am going to relax and enjoy a honey crisp apple!

Ellie loves the ball

Ellie was going crazy today chasing the ball with Roxy the Yorkie. Ellie would sit and stare at the ball until we would throw it for her. She loves to run and chase it.

We also had our first Leonberger come to daycare. Mia is a great dog and she really loves to play with the smaller dogs. Mia actually reminded me of Roxy (our dog) with her play style and her personality.

I ended the day by taking our photographer we are working with for our Halloween party on a tour of the daycare. She is a great photographer and has some great ideas for the party. You can visit her website by clicking here.

Another Foster Dog... Lacey

We are so happy to show off our newest foster dog, Lacey. I came in this morning and got to meet her for the first time. She is a sweet girl that loves personal attention. Lacey is a rottweiler and Shepard mix and loves to lean on you when you pet her. For more information on Lacey, you can contact Pet Haven.

Today we sent out an email to all of our customers with the link to register for the "Wag-n-Woof" Halloween Party. You can click here for more details.

Have a good night, I am off to the White Sox/ Twins game. Go Sox ;)

The puppy is growing up!

Otis, the great dane puppy that comes to daycare everyday has learned a new skill. He now loves to climb on the play equipment and lay down. He did this 3 times today and loves to be on top of the world when he stands on the equipment.

Last night we took all of our staff out to dinner to thank them for all of their hard work! They really enjoyed it and we came up with some great ideas for our Halloween Party. So get ready for that!!

Have a good night!

Bella and the Bubbles

Bella the rottie has a new favorite pastime, chasing bubbles. Erica one of our staff members spent about 30 minutes of blowing bubbles for Bella today. She loves to jump and pop them and then go look for more bubbles. I tried to get a picture of Bella chasing the bubbles, but she moved too fast, and digital cameras don't like fast motion.

I just stopped over to Urbanimal to refill some of our food and treats in the lobby. We always stock the 5 pound bags of Solid Gold food, and can get larger bags if you request them. A complete price list is in the lobby. Also, let us know what food you feed your dog and we can get that for you as well. It takes only 1 or 2 days to get the food you require. Just let us know and we will take great care of you!

Tonight Trisha and I are going to be taking all of our staff out to dinner to thank them for all of their hard work and making Pampered Pooch Playground a huge success. It has grown much faster than Trisha and I ever expected!! We can't be happier with how everything has gone, if you ever have any suggestions please let us know. We have a new phone system, and if you press "4" you will be connected directly to my cell phone.

It's Pom Day

Today we had a bunch of Pomeranian dogs spending the night. Murphy (in the picture), Bella and Foxy all had fun running around. I spent a good part of the day going through a merchandise catalog from a local screen printing company, Chux Prints. One of our dog's parents is the owner of the company and they take great care of us, tell 'em Keith sent you (I feel like a bad radio commercial).

I just uploaded some new pictures to the gallery. Click Here to see them. Oh, please join our Facebook Fan Page, we really want some more friends :)

Have a great night.

Yet another nice day!

I thought that after Labor Day the weather was going to go down the tubes as it always does, but it has still been so nice out and it feels like it is still summer. Bind, who was our first dog through the doors and has been with us just about every weekday since we opened was able to catch some rays outside! Bindi plays great with all the dogs, but spent a few hours running around with Bella, who is a rottie. They play great together!

Hope everyone has a really good weekend, it should be really nice out!

Hobie

Hobie is one of our new regular daycare dogs. Hobie likes to sport a t-shirt every day and it makes him feel cool! Hobie loves to run with the big and little dogs and is a great dog! All the dogs enjoyed another nice day outside. Sorry that this is one of my shorter blogs, but I left my MacBook Pro laptop at the daycare today and had to use Trisha's computer.

Pop Quiz...

Is this a picture of Quinn, or our dog Roxy when she was a puppy? (please think hard) OK, it is Quinn, a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. Today was her first full day, and she did GREAT playing with all the other dogs.

Have you been looking up Halloween Costumes for our "Woof or Treat" Halloween Party on Saturday, October 25th? I think we have found a great one for Roxy!

A Sunny Afternoon

It was a great sunny day today and Lucy and Cosi decided they wanted to get one last day of sun in before it turns cold out. These 2 puppies love to play non-stop with each other, then they both fall asleep next to each other when they are done.

Have a good night!

Starbuck

Today we had a St Bernard puppy named Starbuck come in for an evaluation. Starbuck is huge, but still loves to play like a puppy.

We had Jenny our groomer stop in to look at our progress on the spa. We are about 2 weeks away from opening the spa. Just a few little things we need to get done and we will be finished. We are very excited for this to open.

Oh, I came across a cool video that shows how dogs drink water. It is fun to watch and you might learn something.

Archie

Today we stopped over to the daycare to help feed the dogs breakfast. The hotel was very full this weekend and many of the doggie parents were getting married. We have 2 boxer mixes who stayed over (Archie is in the picture, and Millie is his sister). These 2 dogs have so much energy and run all morning long. We went to Ikea to get some things and came back 2 hours later and they were still running and having a great time.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and stayed out of the rain!

Woofstock

Today we were at Linden Hills Woofstock and it was a great event despite the rain. The best part is we saw some of our regular dogs (Finnegan, Mojo, Reny, Pickle, and a few others). We made lots of new doggie friends as well. One lady stopped over and told me I looked like Blake Lewis from American Idol. I am not a big fan of Idol, but I looked up Blake, and don't think I look at him! To see his picture, just click here. Our friends from sidewalkdog.com were walking around with the Fairy Dog Mother and blessing the dogs!

Time to pour a glass of wine from our favorite winery in Napa and relax with Roxy and Trisha! Have a good night!

Dakota the Puppy

Today we had 2 Golden Retriever Puppies spend the day at Daycare. Dakota (in the picture) and Bailey spent the day running around and playing with each other. It is always so much fun to watch 2 puppies play together!

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, check out Linden Hills Woofstock. There will be lots of fun dog games, and Jasper our foster dog will be walking in the dog parade. Click Here for more details, and if you come, stop over and say "HI" to us!

Have a great weekend!

Who wants the ball and great customer service

Our ball loving girls took a minute to pose for the camera today. Both Brandy (black lab) and EmmyLou (brown lab / Retriever mix) love to fetch and chase the ball. Today they played non stop with the ball for about an hour until my arm needed a break.

Today there were a bunch of workers in the building installing our grooming tub. We also had the guy from Qwest installing a new phone line and even higher speed internet. The guy was great, but don't ever try to talk to any of their customer service people. I have spent over 2 hours trying to deal with them and our problem is still not fixed. So if anyone works for qwest, please have a manager call me :) Oh, the super fast internet is working great, now 2 times as many people can stream the webcams. This really makes me understand how important great customer service is and we really try to go above and beyond everyday!! So if you ever have any issues or questions call me at the daycare, or on my cell phone (651-238-7673). How many business owners give out their personal cell phone number?

Have a great night.

Speaking of Jasper who is our foster dog from Pet Haven. He is still available for adoption. He is one of the sweetest dogs and loves personal attention. Dupree

One of the first daycare dogs in the door today was Dupree (in the picture). Dupree spent the whole morning playing with his best friend Stewie, who is also the same size and color. When they are playing it looks like there are 2 big white puff balls running around the room!

Most of my day was spent working on our new spa wich will be open by the end of the month. All of the equipment has arrived and unpacked. We will have the plumbing work done in the next few days.

Also, another upgrade you might notice is on the webcams. We are now able to get faster internet (thanks Qwest) and that will be installed on Thursday. There might be a short period of time when the webcams go down, but bear with it because they will be back up soon and streaming even faster.

We now have the biodegradable poop bags in our front area. These are the same bags that we use in the daycare, and they degrade as fast as an apple!

Have a great night!

We're ready for a big week!

Trisha and I took a mini-vacation for a few days last week. We went to visit some wineries in Napa. This is our 2nd trip to Napa and this time we went to some of the smaller wineries. We were on a wine tour, and visited one that had 2 dogs laying around the store! The wine was not our favorite here, but the dogs made up for it! Really how can you go wrong with wine and dogs? Our favorite winery was Frog's Leap, and after taking a 1.5 hour tour of their winery we are sold on them! Plus, they are all green and organic! We bought a bunch of their wine! On the flight back I worked on our "Green Business" application for the city of St Louis Park.

The we spent a little time in San Francisco and checked out a few doggy daycares and boutiques. In the next 2 weeks, we will be taking over the retail area in the front, and you will start to see some new products that we found in San Fran.

Thanks to our wonderful staff that held the fort down when were gone. This was our first time we were really able to get away since we opened the doors and they did a great job! I guess it is like when you are a parent for the first time, it is hard to leave the baby behind. We checked in aout 10 times a day, but everything went VERY SMOOTH while we were gone. We are going to throw them a bash in a few weeks at our employee party!

Hope everyone is ready for a big week!

A little taste of my hometown!

Many of you know that I am a Chicago transplant and really miss some of the great Chicago food. Everyone always asks where they can get authentic Chicago style hot dogs, and I always send them to Chris and Rob's (originally called Joey D's). I can't say enough good things about this place! Some places claim to be "Chicago Style" but don't come close! Some of these guys even have a Chicago accent! Stop out and give them a try, and make sure you sit at the Chicago White Sox table and think of me. For more information you can visit their website by clicking here.

If you know of any great Chicago Pizza places around the Twin Cities please let me know! Until then, I will wait until my favorite pizza can be shipped here!

I do have to say that after living in the Twin Cities for 5 years, I really like it here! Have a great weekend and we will see you soon!

Have a good night!

Who's the Boss?

OK, that joke might have gotten old!! Boss is an English Bulldog who spent the weekend with us. Bull loves to run and play with all the dogs, and sometimes I think he forgets how big he is!! It was funny watching him try to get in the baby pool we had outside. Every time he tried to get in, he would press down on the sides of the pool and water would come pouring out! Boss was determined to get in the pool, it took him 3 tries and he finally did it!! We tried to help him, but I think he wanted to do it on his own!

Oh, there are some new pictures uploaded to the photo gallery! Click Here to view them!
